Psychedelic noise-pop duo Zorch will be melting minds and claiming souls at their tour kickoff and release party for the cassette-only single “Cosmic Gloss/E.M.F.”. The mind-altering space odyssey is being released on [iN]SECT Records, the bedroom label of noted party ursine Butcher Bear. The tracks premiered online through Paste, Altered Zones, and Decibel Tolls and the response has been overwhelmingly positive
The evening also marks Spiderhouse’s 15th anniversary. Its longevity is an anomaly in a town where bars and restaurants seem to disappear before they have even reached their first year, so a quincienera-style blowout is definitely in order.
In true quincienera fashion, the evening begins with mariachis on the Spiderhouse patio, and live music inside the 29th Street Ballroom at 8pm.
Also performing, ACL 2011 artist Fresh Millions, as well as Marmalakes, Boyfrndz, Twin Killers (Baton Rouge), and Forever Overhead. The night will also feature a one-time special sound clash between Butcher Bear and Soundfounder, co-creators of the local electronic music event Exploded Drawing
